ناقشت كلية اقتصاديات الأعمال في جامعة النهرين السيمنار الأول للطالبة مريم حسين بعنوان “تصميم وبناء محفظة ذكية باستخدام لغة بايثون”.   تهدف الدراسة إلى تقديم إطار عمل متكامل لتحسين استراتيجيات الاستثمار باستخدام برنامج Python، مع التركيز على تحليل أسعار الإغلاق الشهرية للمصارف العراقية المدرجة في سوق العراق للأوراق المالية خلال الفترة من 2014 إلى 2024.   تلخص البحث في تقديم مساهمة علمية رائدة من خلال توظيف مكتبات بايثون لتحليل بيانات السوق وتطوير نماذج تنبؤية دقيقة. كما تم تطبيق نماذج مالية وإحصائية باستخدام Python لتحليل البيانات المالية، وتنفيذ تقنيات مثل خوارزميات التعلم الآلي المتمثلة في الغابات العشوائية، والمكونات الرئيسية، وآلة دعم المتجهات، والانحدار الخطي، والانحدار اللوجيستي.   قسم الإعلام والاتصال الحكومي رئاسة جامعة النهرين   -Nahrain University Discusses the Design and Construction of a Smart Portfolio Using Python   The College of Business Economics at Al-Nahrain University discussed the first seminar by Maryam Hussein titled “Design and Construction of a Smart Portfolio Using Python.”   The study aims to provide a comprehensive framework to improve investment strategies using Python, focusing on analyzing the monthly closing prices of Iraqi banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange during the period from 2014 to 2024.   The research presents a pioneering scientific contribution by utilizing Python libraries to analyze market data and develop accurate predictive models.   بمناسبة الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للغة العربية، نظمت كلية التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين محاضرة علمية بعنوان “بالضاد نرتقي علماً ومعرفة”، قدمها الدكتور محمد رحمن بدن، أستاذ اللغة العربية في الكلية، بحضور نخبة من الأساتذة والطلبة.   هدفت المحاضرة إلى إبراز أهمية اللغة العربية في بناء المعرفة والإبداع، وتسليط الضوء على دورها في الحفاظ على الهوية الثقافية ومواكبة التطورات العلمية والتقنية الحديثة. كما تناولت المحاضرة إسهامات اللغة العربية في الحضارة الإنسانية وآفاق تطوير استخدامها في مختلف المجالات الأكاديمية والعلمية.   يأتي هذا النشاط ضمن إطار الجهود المستمرة لتعزيز مكانة اللغة العربية والحفاظ على تراثها الغني، ويعكس الاهتمام المتزايد بالاحتفاء بها كلغة علم وإبداع.      The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Scientific Lecture Titled “With the Arabic Language, We Rise in Knowledge and Understanding”   On the occasion of the International Arabic Language Day, the College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific lecture titled “With the Arabic Language, We Rise in Knowledge and Understanding,” presented by Dr. Muhammad Rahman Badaan, a professor of Arabic language at the college, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students.   The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of the Arabic language in building knowledge and creativity, focusing on its role in preserving cultural identity and keeping up with modern scientific and technological challenges. The lecture also addressed the contributions of the Arabic language to human civilization and how its use can be developed in various academic and scientific fields.   This event is part of the ongoing efforts to preserve the Arabic language and enhance its status worldwide, reflecting the growing interest in the Arabic language and its heritage.  

  ناقشت كلية التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين رسالة ماجستير قدمتها الطالبة سماح أنور ثامر بعنوان “التوصيف الجزيئي لبكتيريا المكورات العنقودية الذهبية المقاومة للكليندامايسين والمعزولة من العينات السريرية”.   هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مقاومة بكتيريا المكورات العنقودية الذهبية لمضاد الكليندامايسين على المستوى الجزيئي، مع تحديد الأنماط الجينية للعزلات باستخدام تقنيات جزيئية متقدمة. وقد شملت الدراسة جمع 150 عينة من مصادر سريرية متنوعة من مستشفيات بغداد، وتشخيصها باستخدام تقنيات مختبرية متعددة، منها جهاز VITEK 2.   أظهرت النتائج وجود بكتيريا المكورات العنقودية الذهبية في 80 عينة من إجمالي العينات التي تم جمعها. اختبرت الدراسة التأثير المضاد للبكتيريا لثمانية أنواع من المضادات الحيوية تنتمي إلى مجموعات دوائية مختلفة، وكشفت عن مقاومة عدد كبير من العزلات لجميع المضادات الحيوية المستخدمة. كما تم التعرف على الجينات المسؤولة عن هذه المقاومة وتأكيد وجودها في جميع العزلات التي شملتها الدراسة.   تساهم هذه الدراسة في فهم أعمق لآليات مقاومة البكتيريا للعلاج الدوائي، مما يمهد الطريق لتطوير استراتيجيات جديدة لمواجهة مقاومة المضادات الحيوية.        Al-Nahrain University Discusses Resistance of Staphylococcus aureus to Clindamycin   The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University discussed a master’s thesis presented by Samah Anwar Thamer titled “Molecular Characterization of Clindamycin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Clinical Samples.”   The study aimed to investigate the molecular resistance of Staphylococcus aureus to clindamycin and identify the genetic patterns of the isolates using advanced molecular techniques. The research involved collecting 150 samples from various clinical sources in Baghdad hospitals, which were diagnosed using multiple laboratory techniques, including the VITEK 2 system.   The results revealed the presence of Staphylococcus aureus in 80 samples out of the total collected. The study tested the antibacterial effects of eight types of antibiotics from different drug groups and found that a large number of isolates were resistant to all the antibiotics used. Additionally, the genes responsible for this resistance were identified and confirmed in all the isolates studied.   This research contributes to a deeper understanding of bacterial resistance mechanisms to drug treatments, paving the way for the development of new strategies to combat antibiotic resistance.   Media and Government Communication Department Presidency of Al-Nahrain University

The workshop, held under the patronage of the college dean, Dr. Nagham Hussein Naama, focused on how green banks contribute to addressing environmental issues such as climate change and pollution through financing sustainable projects aimed at achieving environmental, economic, and social goals. Green banks play a pivotal role in promoting environmental sustainability and creating a green business environment through adopting sustainable banking practices.   The economic and social role of green banks in achieving sustainability was also discussed, highlighting how these institutions can contribute to improving quality of life and the environment by supporting sustainable projects and creating green job opportunities.

These meetings aim to develop legal education in Arab countries in response to rapid technological changes, promote advanced teaching methods, and update curricula to meet the needs of the labor market.   Additionally, they focus on evaluating electronic learning in legal fields, emphasizing the importance of applied studies in law, and integrating interdisciplinary studies to enhance a comprehensive understanding of contemporary legal issues.

The workshop was led by instructor Saira Rabi.   The workshop focused on simplifying consensus mechanisms in blockchain technology to align with 6G networks using layer-2 solutions, lightweight consensus mechanisms, and hybrid models like Proof of Cooperation.   نظمت كلية التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين ندوة علمية بعنوان “التعديلات الجديدة في قانون الأحوال الشخصية: آفاق وتحديات”، برعاية رئيس الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور علي عبد العزيز الشاوي، وإشراف عميد الكلية الأستاذ الدكتور محسن هاشم رسن.   عُقدت الندوة في قاعة المناقشات بالكلية، حيث قدم الدكتور محمد حازم عبد الستار من كلية الشرق الأوسط الجامعة / قسم القانون محاضرة تناولت التعديلات المقترحة على قانون الأحوال الشخصية العراقي رقم 188 لعام 1959. ركزت المحاضرة على الجوانب القانونية والاجتماعية لهذه التعديلات، وأثرها على الأسرة والمجتمع.   ناقشت الندوة الجدل الدائر بين مؤيدي ومعارضي التعديلات، والتحديات الدستورية المرتبطة بتطبيقها، خاصة فيما يتعلق بحرية الاعتقاد والمساواة. كما تناولت أهم التعديلات المتعلقة بالزواج، الطلاق، الحضانة، والإرث، مشددة على أهمية إجراء حوار مجتمعي واسع لضمان توافق هذه التعديلات مع مبادئ العدالة والدستور العراقي.   The College of Biotechnology Holds a Seminar on the New Amendments to the Personal Status Law   The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific seminar titled “The New Amendments to the Personal Status Law: Prospects and Challenges,” under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and the supervision of the College Dean, Prof. Dr. Mohsen Hashem Rassan.   The seminar was held in the college’s discussion hall, featuring a lecture by Dr. Mohammed Hazem Abdul Sattar from the Middle East University / Department of Law. The session addressed the proposed amendments to the Iraqi Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959, exploring their legal and social implications and their impact on families and society.   The seminar highlighted the ongoing debate between supporters and opponents of these amendments and discussed the constitutional challenges related to their implementation, particularly concerning the principles of freedom of belief and equality. Additionally, it covered key amendments related to marriage, divorce, custody, and inheritance, emphasizing the necessity of broad societal dialogue to ensure these amendments align with the principles of justice and the Iraqi Constitution.

The program featured specialized lectures and hands-on workshops conducted by a team of expert faculty members, aiming to equip participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to apply AI technologies in their work fields.   At the end of the course, participation certificates were awarded to the trainees by Professor Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Professor Dr. Wajdi Sadiq, Head of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering Department. Both expressed their pride in the high level of engagement shown by the participants and emphasized the importance of strengthening the ongoing partnership between the college and the Military Industrialization Authority to support scientific research and develop advanced engineering technologies.

  شارك قسم الهندسة المدنية في جامعة النهرين في الامتحان المركزي لمسابقة جائزة الإبداع والتميز للطلبة الأوائل في كليات الهندسة في الجامعات العراقية الحكومية والأهلية لقسمي الهندسة المدنية وهندسة البناء وإدارة المشاريع. مثل القسم الطلبة الثلاثة الأوائل وهم محمد حيدر حواس سوادي وعلي رائد حسين مالك ونور خضر عباس سلطان   أُقيم الامتحان في كلية الهندسة بالجامعة المستنصرية يوم الخميس الموافق 19/12/2024 في قاعة ابن سينا الساعة العاشرة صباحاً بمشاركة 44 طالباً من مختلف الجامعات العراقية واستمر الامتحان الذي أُجري إلكترونياً لمدة ثلاث ساعات   أسفرت النتائج عن حصول قسم الهندسة المدنية في جامعة النهرين على المركز الثالث بتميز الطالب محمد حيدر حواس سوادي. جائزة الإبداع والتميز تهدف إلى تشجيع الابتكار والتميز في المشاريع الهندسية وتُمنح للمهندسين الذين قدموا إنجازات متميزة في هذا المجال     The Civil Engineering Department Wins Third Place in the Creativity and Excellence Award Competition   The Civil Engineering Department at Al-Nahrain University participated in the central exam for the Creativity and Excellence Award competition for the top students in engineering colleges from Iraqi public and private universities. The competition included students from the Civil Engineering and Construction and Project Management Departments. The department was represented by its top three students: Mohammed Haider Hawas Suwadi, Ali Raed Hussein Malik, and Noor Khudr Abbas Sultan.   The exam was held at the College of Engineering, Al-Mustansiriyah University, on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in Ibn Sina Hall at 10:00 a.m., with the participation of 44 students from various Iraqi universities. The exam, conducted electronically, lasted three hours.   The results announced after the exam showed that the Civil Engineering Department at Al-Nahrain University secured third place through the outstanding performance of student Mohammed Haider Hawas Suwadi. The Creativity and Excellence Award aims to encourage innovation and excellence in engineering projects and is granted to engineers who achieve remarkable accomplishments in the field.

The campaign was conducted in collaboration with a specialized team from the National Blood Transfusion Center, which carried out medical examinations to assess donors’ eligibility and ensure they were free of chronic diseases or recent surgeries before proceeding with the blood collection process.   Paramedics from the Iraqi Red Crescent Society also participated, providing support to donors by preparing them and ensuring they completed the donation process smoothly and without any health issues.   The campaign witnessed a significant turnout from university staff and students, who showed great enthusiasm to contribute to this humanitarian initiative that could save many lives and promote a sense of community solidarity.

  نظم مركز التعليم المستمر وتقنيات المعلومات في رئاسة جامعة النهرين مهرجان “ضادنا رمز حضارتنا” بالتعاون مع كلية العلوم وبحضور عميدة الكلية الأستاذ الدكتور أسماء هادي ومدير مركز التعليم المستمر الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور رعد كاظم وتدريسيين ومنتسبين من مختلف تشكيلات الجامعة.   ألقت الأستاذ الدكتور أسماء هادي كلمة بهذه المناسبة حثت فيها الطلبة على استخدام لغة الضاد في حياتهم اليومية كدليل على ثقافتهم وهويتهم الوطنية، فضلاً عن تطور لغتهم وأفكارهم.   تم تقديم محاضرة من قبل الدكتور محمد أكرم، التدريسي في مركز التعليم المستمر، عن تطور اللغة وأساليبها وتراثها العريق. كما تضمن المهرجان معرض للوحات الفنية التي جسدت معاني اللغة العربية قدمها الطلبة.   وشمل المهرجان عرضاً لفيلم وثائقي حول مراحل تطور اللغة العربية وأهميتها بين لغات العالم، وكان هناك مشاركات متعددة من قبل الطلبة في إلقاء الأبيات الشعرية والخطابة والمسابقات اللغوية.      University of Al-Nahrain Organizes Festival in Celebration of Arabic Language Day   The Center for Continuing Education and Information Technology at the University of Al-Nahrain organized the festival “Our Pride, the Language of Civilization” in collaboration with the College of Science. It was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Asmaa Hadi, the Director of the Center for Continuing Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Kazem, and faculty and staff from various university departments.   Professor Dr. Asmaa Hadi delivered a speech on this occasion, encouraging students to use the Arabic language in their daily lives as a reflection of their culture and national identity, as well as the development of their language and ideas.   A lecture was given by Dr. Muhammad Akram, a lecturer at the Center for Continuing Education, on the development, methods, and rich heritage of the Arabic language. The festival also featured an art exhibition depicting the meanings of the Arabic language created by students.   The festival included a documentary film about the evolution and importance of the Arabic language among the world’s languages. There were also multiple student contributions, including poetry recitations, speeches, and language competitions.

  شاركت الأستاذ المساعد دكتور سحر مدحت حسين، التدريسية في كلية التقنيات الأحيائية في جامعة النهرين، في المؤتمر الدولي وارث المقام في كربلاء المقدسة، ببحثها: “رابطة تعدد الأشكال الجينية في جين TLR4 لدى النساء العراقيات المصابات بالتهاب المسالك البولية المتكرر وتجرثم الدم”.   استهدف البحث العلاقة بين التباين الوراثي لجين TLR4 وزيادة القابلية للإصابة بالتهابات المسالك البولية المتكررة وتسمم الدم لدى النساء العراقيات. شملت الدراسة 220 عينة من الدم والمصل والبول.   أظهرت نتائج البحث أن التباين الوراثي في جين TLR4، وخاصة الأليل rs4986791، يزيد من خطر الإصابة بالتهابات المسالك البولية المزمنة. كما تم اكتشاف طفرة حذف جينية جديدة لدى العراقيين لم تسجل سابقًا كعامل خطر عالمي. وأكدت الدراسة على أهمية الفحص الجيني المبكر للنساء المعرضات للإصابة بالتهابات المسالك البولية المتكررة، مما يسهم في تحسين التشخيص وتطوير استراتيجيات علاجية فعالة.   A Faculty Member from Al-Nahrain University Participates in the Warith International Conference Held in Karbala   Assistant Professor Dr. Sahar Madhat Hussein, a faculty member at the College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University, participated in the Warith International Conference held in Karbala, with her research titled: “Association of Genetic Polymorphism in the TLR4 Gene in Iraqi Women with Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections and Septicemia”.   The research aimed to explore the genetic variability of the TLR4 gene and its increased susceptibility to recurrent urinary tract infections and septicemia among Iraqi women. The study included 220 samples of blood, serum, and urine.   The findings indicated that genetic variation in the TLR4 gene, particularly the allele rs4986791, increases the risk of chronic urinary tract infections. A new genetic deletion mutation was also discovered in Iraqis, which has not been previously recorded as a global risk factor. The study emphasized the importance of early genetic screening for women at risk of recurrent urinary tract infections, contributing to better diagnosis and the development of effective treatment strategies.

  نظمت وحدة التأهيل والتوظيف، في كلية العلوم بجامعة النهرين، ورشة عمل بعنوان “إدارة الكوارث والأزمات الاقتصادية”. ألقتها الأستاذة المساعدة دكتور عائدة فوزي أحمد، التدريسية في كلية علوم الهندسة الزراعية.   تناولت الورشة أحد المواضيع المهمة التي تتعلق بالاستقرار الاقتصادي والمستوى المعيشي لأفراد المجتمع وقدرة المؤسسات على الاستدامة. حيث يتميز الاقتصاد العراقي بتأثره الشديد بالأزمات والصدمات الخارجية المرتبطة بالأسعار العالمية للنفط. فإن ما يصيب الاقتصاد العالمي قد يؤثر في الاقتصاد العراقي من خلال التعامل الخارجي.   ركزت الورشة على أهمية تكاتف الجهود من قبل الحكومة ومؤسسات الدولة والأفراد، ووضع استراتيجيات طويلة الأمد لتخفيف حدة تلك الكوارث وتقليل آثارها السلبية من أجل تحقيق الاستقرار والاستدامة. للجامعة دور كبير في أداء هذه المهمة ودعم المجتمع.   Al-Nahrain Sciences Organizes a Workshop on Disaster Management and Economic Crises   The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Applications and the Iraqi Women’s Association at the College of Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, organized a workshop titled “Disaster Management and Economic Crises”. The workshop was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Aida Fawzi Ahmed, a faculty member at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences.   The workshop addressed one of the critical topics related to economic stability and the living standards of individuals and the sustainability of institutions. Given that the Iraqi economy is highly sensitive to external crises and shocks linked to global oil prices, what affects the global economy could also impact our economy through external dealings.   The workshop emphasized the importance of collaboration among government, state institutions, and individuals, and the need for long-term strategies to mitigate those crises and reduce their negative effects, aiming for stability and sustainability. The university plays a crucial role in carrying out this task and supporting the community.

  ناقشت كلية التقنيات الحيوية في جامعة النهرين رسالة ماجستير للطالبة أروى صالح محمد حول تقييم التعبير الجيني لبعض جينات الأغشية.   تأتي أهمية الدراسة من خلال التركيز على تأثير المعززات الحيوية في خفض التركيز المثبط الأدنى (MIC) للمضادات الحيوية عند دمجهما، بالإضافة إلى دراسة التعبير الجيني لجينات الأغشية الحيوية (fimH, sugE, treC) باستخدام تقنية qRT-PCR.   أجريت الدراسة على 160 عينة من مرضى يعانون من التهابات مختلفة في مستشفيات بغداد، حيث تم تشخيص 80 عزلة من بكتيريا، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة مقاومة مرتفعة للمضادات الحيوية، وخاصة لمضاد السيفوتاكسيم بنسبة 76.6%. وأشارت الدراسة إلى دور مهم للمعززات الحيوية في تثبيط التعبير الجيني لبعض الجينات عند استخدامها مع المضادات الحيوية، مما يسهم في تحسين فعالية العلاج وتقليل المقاومة البكتيرية.   Al-Nahrain University Discusses the Effects of Probiotics on Gene Expression in Bacteria   The College of Biotechnology at Al-Nahrain University discussed a master’s thesis by Arwa Saleh Mohammed on evaluating gene expression in certain membrane genes.   The study highlights the role of probiotics in reducing the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of antibiotics when combined, and examines the gene expression of biofilm genes (fimH, sugE, treC) using qRT-PCR technology.   The study was conducted on 160 samples from patients with different infections in Baghdad hospitals, where 80 bacterial isolates were identified. The results showed high resistance to antibiotics, particularly to ceftotaxime at 76.6%. The study also demonstrated the significant role of probiotics in inhibiting the gene expression of certain genes when used with antibiotics, contributing to improving treatment efficacy and reducing bacterial resistance.

  نظم قسم الأدلة الجنائية في كلية العلوم بجامعة النهرين، بالتعاون مع مديرية تحقيق الأدلة الجنائية، ندوة عمل عن طبعات الأصابع ودورها في الإثبات الجنائي.   قدّم المحاضرة العقيد أثير الأمير رحيم، والمقدم حيدر سمير مطر، من مديرية تحقيق الأدلة الجنائية قسم طبع الأصابع، والدكتور عمر عدنان جاسم، وسط حضور عدد من تدريسي القسم وطلبة الكلية.   تهدف الندوة إلى التعريف بالطرق العلمية المستخدمة في رفع طبعات الأصابع، وطرق المقارنة بين بصمات الأصابع المرفوعة من مسرح الجريمة مع بصمات الأصابع المؤرشفة مسبقًا.   Al-Nahrain University Organizes a Seminar on Fingerprints and Their Role in Forensic Evidence   The Criminal Evidence Department at the College of Sciences at Al-Nahrain University, in collaboration with the Directorate of Criminal Evidence Investigation, organized a workshop on fingerprints and their role in forensic evidence.   The lecture was presented by Colonel Ather Al-Amir Rahim, Major Haidar Sameer Matar from the Criminal Evidence Investigation Department’s fingerprint section, and Dr. Omar Adnan Jassim, with the attendance of several faculty members and students from the college.   The seminar aimed to introduce the scientific methods used in collecting fingerprints and the comparison of lifted crime scene fingerprints with archived fingerprints.

It emphasized enhancing strengths, addressing weaknesses, and countering internal and external threats to ensure Iraq’s readiness to face potential risks.   The thesis aimed to analyze the role of security strategies in managing risks and ensuring national security by identifying national objectives, diagnosing opportunities and challenges, and providing recommendations to strengthen Iraq’s stability and security in the future.

The conference witnessed the participation of researchers from various Arab and international universities.   The research explored the significant relationship between translation and media, highlighting their vital role in cultural diversity and perspectives. It also addressed the impact of media discourse on shaping public opinion, emphasizing how this discourse can play either a positive or negative role in resolving societal issues.   The study aimed to present theoretical and analytical pathways to explore the various techniques and strategies used in translating media discourse, emphasizing the importance of adopting these strategies in translation processes due to their clear influence on media content.

The opening session included official speeches delivered by the Secretary-General of the Arab Scientific Research Councils Union, Dr. Abdelmajid Benamara, a representative of the Association of Arab Universities, and a representative of the Arab League, in addition to a lecture addressing indicators of science, technology, and innovation in the Arab world.   The meetings focused on discussing the challenges facing Arab scientific research and developing a roadmap to enhance joint cooperation between Arab academic institutions to support innovation and sustainable development. Additionally, the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, proposed the establishment of the “Arab Scientific Research Award” to encourage researchers and honor distinguished contributors in the scientific field.   The return of the Arab Scientific Research Councils Union to Baghdad reflects the significant role played by the Iraqi capital as a platform for revitalizing Arab scientific cooperation and strengthening paths for joint research and innovation, highlighting Iraq’s prominent scientific status among Arab nations.   Al-Nahrain University’s participation comes as part of its efforts to enhance its academic presence in Arab and international scientific forums and to collaborate with universities and research institutions to support innovation and develop scientific research in Iraq and the region.
